Birth Planning Resources
As a doula and childbirth educator I love working with families one-on-one or in small groups as they prepare for birth. I have collected many resources for my clients and I love to share. I am placing a number of helpful links in my own wiki.
The wiki is a work in progress so here are some additional resources you may find helpful as you plan for your birth.
These are some of my favorite birth and pregnancy books.:
The Thinking Woman's Guide To a Better Birth by Henri Goer
*The Pregnancy Book and The Birth Book by The Sears
*Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way by Susan McCutcheon et. al.
*Birthing From Within by Pam England
*The Pregnancy Bible by Joanne Stone and Keith Eddleman
*The Complete Book of Pregnancy and Childbirth by Sheila Kitzinger
(books marked with an asterick are part of my lending library)
Lamaze has a new edition of their Official Guide to Giving Birth With Confidence out. I haven't read it yet but it showcases the 6 care principles and looks to be a fantastic resource.
And these are some of my favorite birth sites on the web:
