Hey there! I'm so glad you found me here. I'm a new independent doula, childbirth educator and Certified Lactation Counselor. I serve moms in the middle Georgia area. I'm mama to 3 littles of my own and looking forward to being with you as you welcome your own little ones into the world.
My Birth Philosophy
I belive birth should be a woman centered process that evolves in the context of informed consent and refusal. I believe that most women can birth easily and without routine intervention while also recognizing that some women will want or need medical options. My personal birth philosophy is based on the 6 Lamaze Care Principles and The Rights of Childbearing Women as set forth by Childbirth Connection.
Why choose BellyWise Doula?
According to DONA International the use of a doula may result in a shorter labor with fewer complications. Women who have used doulas have reported increased feelings of satisfaction with the births of their babies. Doulas may reduce the need for pain medications.
I can't promise you a particular birth scenario will or won't play out in a particular way. What I do promise is to show respect for your physical, mental and emotional needs throughout your pregnancy and birth. I promise to help you find comfort techniques you can use during labor and birth. I promise to present useable optons to prevent, relieve, or reduce pain and discomfort no matter how your labor unfolds.I also promise to accept and support your decisions during pregnancy and birth. I will not leave your side even if your birth deviates from your plan. I believe you are the best qualified person to make decisions about your own health and the health of your baby. It's not my job to make your decisions for you. It's my job to offer support through the decision making process. I can't promise I know all the answers to all your questions but if you have a question I can't answer I promise to help you find an answer. I will provide refferals to qualified local proffesionals for medical, nutritional, emotional, or other needs that fall outside my scope of practice.
